🔑 This solution requires a key sacrifice
One of your working keys must be permanently mounted inside the vehicle, where it satisfies the factory immobilizer during a remote start. That key is given up for the life of the installation, so if you only have two keys, budget for cutting a spare before you book.
It sounds worse than it is. The key sits hidden and untouched, your factory security is unaffected, and on these vehicles it is the only method available.

This is the EUROSTART BRS5 remote starter, for the BMW X1 2016–2022, X2 2018–2023 and MINI 2014–2024.
Covers the F48 X1 and F39 X2, plus the MINI 3 Door and 5 Door (F56/F55), Clubman (F54), Convertible (F57) and Countryman (F60). MINI is BMW-built and shares the same immobiliser architecture.
BMW and MINI are among the hardest vehicles on the road to fit a remote starter to. The mainstream brands barely cover them, because BMW's CAS immobiliser and vehicle networks don't behave like anything else. EUROSTART is built specifically for that gap.
Press lock three times on the fob you already carry, holding the third press, and the car starts. Nothing extra on your keyring, no second remote, no aftermarket buttons in the cabin. For longer range than a factory fob manages, add smartphone control.
On a remote start, the BRS5 switches on the front heated seats for you. You choose the heat level and the outside temperature it kicks in at.
The kit connects through your vehicle's factory connectors rather than splicing into the harness, so the wiring is left as the factory built it.

For automatic and dual-clutch (DCT) transmissions only, gas or diesel. Hybrids aren't supported.
EUROSTART covers the kit for 2 years when an authorized dealer installs it. We're an authorized EUROSTART dealer, so a kit we install at our Markham shop keeps that warranty, and our installation work is covered for life on top. A kit you install yourself doesn't get EUROSTART's warranty.
