Compustar sell systems as a controller plus a remote kit, and the two are priced separately. That's why the same module appears at several prices: the difference is which remote you pair with it.
The CMX is what most of our plug-and-play kits are built around.
The CMX module, an iDatalink BLADE bypass and a vehicle-specific harness in one box. If you want the shortest route from ordering to a working system, this is it.
This is where the range comes from. A 1-way remote sends a command and hopes. A 2-way LED remote confirms the car started. A 2-way LCD remote shows you the status and cabin temperature on a screen, at up to 3,000 feet or 3 miles depending on the kit.

Nobody else in this category matches a 3-mile 2-way remote, and the two-way part matters more than the distance: knowing the car started saves the walk out to check.
Their security systems are also the most complete of the three brands we carry. Compustar alarms integrate with the factory system rather than fighting it, and the accessory range around them is deep: the DAS-II four-in-one sensor, glass break, tilt, starter kill, and upgrade kits that turn an existing remote starter into a full alarm.
Because the module and the remote kit are separate purchases, the number you first see isn't always the number you pay. A CMX module plus a 2-way LCD remote kit lands well above a comparable Fortin or iDatastart system with a factory-fob start.
That's worth paying when range is the point. It isn't if you park in a driveway and your factory fob already reaches. Plenty of our customers are better served by 3xLock start on a cheaper platform, and we'll tell you so.
Some Compustar solutions also carry the ⭕ flag, meaning they use KLON programming through an ADS-USB tool. We pre-program modules before they ship on most vehicles, so for most customers it never comes up.
You may not need a new system. If a compatible Compustar remote starter is already in your vehicle, the FT-ALARMIT kit adds the alarm on top: the sensor, siren, LED and starter kill. You keep the system, the harness and the install you've already paid for. Fortin EVO-ONE owners can do the same with the EVO-ALARMIT.

Current Compustar remote kits work with the CM5000 to CM7200, CM900S, CM900AS, FT-CMX and FT-DC3 control modules. The module's part number is printed on the module under your dash, not on the remote. Find yours in our key fob kit finder.
The CM3000, CM4000 and CM4200 are obsolete. The radio protocol changed and no current kit will pair with them, so you need a new system rather than a new remote. Talk to us before spending anything. Depending on the vehicle, there may be a better answer than like-for-like.
Yes. The Q9 and 1WG17 can add DRONE Mobile at any time. The T12 comes with it.
The price covers the system and its installation. Some vehicles also need a part made for that vehicle, such as an interface module or T-harness. Tell us your year, make and model and we'll confirm your price before you book.
No. Adding a remote starter doesn't cancel your factory warranty. A dealer can only decline a specific claim if they can show the installation caused the fault, which is why install quality matters and why we back ours for life.
The control module has a limited lifetime warranty. Remotes and accessories are covered for one year, and our installation is backed for life.
