This is the labour to fit a three-camera system with two cameras mounted on the outside of the vehicle — front camera on the windscreen, plus two exterior cameras on the bumper, tailgate, roofline or side of the vehicle. Common on trucks, vans and work vehicles.
What it costs
-
$400 flat rate
-
Same day in most cases — by appointment, so your vehicle goes straight onto a bay
- Backed by our lifetime installation warranty
Why two exterior cameras is the most involved install we do
Every camera mounted outside has to survive road salt, high-pressure car washes, freeze-thaw cycles and standing water for years. Each one needs a sealed cable entry through the body, a mount that holds through vibration and winter, and a run that travels outside the cabin before coming back in.
Two of them means doing that twice, at opposite ends of the vehicle, usually on something larger than a car. Done badly, water tracks down a cable into the vehicle — a far more expensive problem than the camera itself. This is the rate that reflects doing it properly.
What's included
- Mounting all three cameras — front, plus two exterior
- Two sealed, weatherproofed cable entries, with the runs concealed inside the vehicle
- Hardwiring to a fused source or power management device, with parking mode configured
- Setting time, date and GPS, aligning every angle, and confirming all three channels record before you leave
- A walkthrough of the app and how to pull footage off the card
Which install do I need?
If all three cameras mount inside the vehicle, you want DCAM3-Install at $210. If only the rear camera mounts outside, that's DCAM3EXT-Install at $260. Not sure which applies? Tell us the vehicle and the system and we'll confirm before you book.
Bringing your own system?
That's fine, and this rate covers fitting it. We'll handle the mounting, sealing, wiring, setup and testing. Note that we can't diagnose faults in hardware we didn't supply without a separate troubleshooting charge.
Booking
Add this to your order and we'll contact you after checkout to arrange a time at our Markham shop, and confirm how long your vehicle will need.
One thing worth knowing
Commercial vehicles vary enormously. Depending on the vehicle, some installations need additional parts — relays, diodes, resistors, grommets or vehicle-specific harnesses — which are charged separately if required. We'll always tell you before doing the work, not after.
