This is the KEETEC TAXI CAN v1 CAN-Bus Speed Pulse Generator.

The KEETEC TAXI CAN is an electronic module that reads current vehicle speed through OBD2 and converts it into the PWM signal a taximeter needs as its input.

Vehicle speed is converted from kilometres per hour into pulses per second, at your choice of three conversion ratios. The module also provides ignition status* and a low-speed status signal. A full list of analog outputs is in the instructions.

* Ignition status is derived from OBD2 communication over the vehicle data link. The module connects to the ignition and communication is established roughly 2 seconds after power is applied, so output activation is slightly delayed. This function should be verified on the specific vehicle before you rely on it.

Note: The module connects to the ignition of the vehicle.
